  • Gansbaai: Shark Cage Diving Experience

    2. Gansbaai: Shark Cage Diving Experience

South Africa has privileged access to great white sharks … if you know where to go and when. Enjoy great white sharks face-to-face. Observing and diving with these creatures under the correct conditions and guidance is a wonderful experience. Even ‘anti-shark’ people return from an expedition or diving trip with love, and certainly respect, for the great white. This tour is without doubt the most successful white shark diving tour in the world: Working in the unique marine area off the southern Cape coast, the skippers log more contact with great white sharks than anyone else worldwide. Tour itinerary: · Breakfast at the stunning Lodge The continental breakfast consists of freshly made muffins, quiches, yogurt, cereals, toast and cold meats, tea and coffee. · Your day at sea and a lecture on board The ski...

The introduction talk from the Marine Biologist was very interesting around people’s perception of sharks. Although I did not get to see a Great White the Coppertone and Whaler sharks were extraordinary. I also got the added bonus of extra time in the water, I think I had nearly an hour . I recommended this activity to another couple who we met last night in the same hotel and they booked for Sunday 21st April. Thanks for a great day!!

Unfortunately we were not able to see Whales and the guide told us that there was just one boat going out to see whales (so they searched that for us) but this boat was full already (i think was the same company I contacted some days before). Despite this, the company organizing this tour was very good. They contacted us due to changes they wanted to make, but it was ok for them if we didnt want them (we changed the day due to weather, so it worked for us) The trip was very nice Denver and (I dont remember her name) the german translator were very nice people and learnt a lot from the country and the people. They were very patient and we didnt feel under stress as we did in another day tour with another company. We could totally recommend the tour, the company and the guides are very professional and nice. To see the whale is a mather of nature, or being lucky :)

    5. Gansbaai: Shark Cage Diving

Begin your excursion into the thrilling marine environment of South Africa with continental breakfast alongside a safety briefing by the boat’s skipper. Then, head out on a 20-minute boat ride to an area known for being brimming with sharks and other majestic ocean denizens.  Once you’ve arrived, you can make the choice to watch the sharks from the raised observation deck, or to be lowered into the water in a metal cage for a true adrenaline rush. Saw some copper sharks up close & personal, great whites are not in season at shark alley. However it was nice to do the experience overall and see some kind of sharks, something is better than nothing. The team was very nice and the experience was safe.

  • Full Day Trip to Hermanus from Cape Town

    6. Full Day Trip to Hermanus from Cape Town

This circular tour takes you over a mountain pass to the seaside town of Hermanus. This town, nestled between mountains and the sea is not only very beautiful but offers some of the best shore based whale watching opportunities in the world (August – November). Close sightings of the Southern Right whale are likely. On the return journey we follow the coastline with the possibility of further sightings of whales (and even the possibility of sighting dolphins). On the return journey you will visit Bouchard Finlayson Wine Estate for a wine tasting near Betty’s Bay to have a look at the penguins (optional, for own account & time permitting) before returning to Cape Town in the afternoon. On Sundays, a stop is made at stony point instead of wine tasting at Bouchard Finlayson.

Had a great time doing this tour: Everything was well organized, the guides were knowledgeable, beautiful drive down to Hermanus, the whales were amazing to watch! Two recommendations: 1) Book through the local partner directly as it's about 20 pounds cheaper than booking through this website. 2) Book the whale watching boat tour as a combo package with your trip to Hermanus as it will save you some money too.

We did the tour in late October. Actually, this should take two hours. At first we didn't see any whales, so the crew cruised in the bay for a while until we were lucky. The encounter was very close, intense and fantastic. We also had a little rough sea. Unfortunately, some fellow travelers became seasick and vomited. The crew had that well under control. Everyone was well looked after.

Saw some copper sharks up close & personal, great whites are not in season at shark alley. However it was nice to do the experience overall and see some kind of sharks, something is better than nothing. The team was very nice and the experience was safe.

It was an amazing once in a life time experience. The group was so lovely and we have had fun from the first day. Our Tourguide Christine has made the tour something special. Thanks

Very professional outfit with a passionate crew. It was a memorable sighting of the southern right whales that are our yearly visitors.

It was a beautiful day. Very well organized and following covid protocols most of the time.
