Full description

Discover the verdant beauty of the Mekong Delta on a day trip from Ho Chi Minh city. Travel in an air-conditioned minivan or bus and board a motorboat for a ride through islands on the Tien River. Enjoy a local lunch in an orchard and ride a rowboat under coconut trees on the Bao Dinh canal.

Depart from your Ho Chi Minh City hotel and head to the Mekong Delta by minivan or bus. Pass by green rice fields before arriving at the beautiful rural My Tho. Along the way, visit the Vinh Trang pagoda, the biggest pagoda in the Mekong delta.

Go by motorized boat on the Tien River to the Qui (Tortoise islet). See the fishing port, boat-building workshops, and the Dragon, Phoenix, and Unicorn Islet.

Walk into the village, where you can visit a local fruit garden and enjoy the tropical fruit while listening to Southern Vietnamese folk music performed by islanders. Join in the daily activities that the locals do and take in the atmosphere of this beautiful natural countryside.

Visit the bee house, and take a picture of the pythons. Lunch will be served right in the heart of the orchard garden.

The boat cruise will lead you through the Bao Dinh canal, entering Ben Tre province — the land of coconuts. Here you'll see a typical agricultural model called "Garden – Pond – Cage” before visiting the coconut candy-making shop.

Next, enjoy a rowing boat trip on the small canal, fully covered by the shadow of the water coconut trees. After your boat ride, take a bike ride around the island before returning to the bus.

Lan was a great tour guide and the boat trip on the Mekong was really nice. The most interesting part of the boat trip took only 30 minutes. Then we had a really great lunch with a lot of interesting, yummy Vietnamese food!!! The only thing I didn't like were two stops at a bee farm where of course you could buy honey and a local manufacturing for coconut sweets. Sales events for tourists..

Tour guide Hai and Driver, also called Hai, were very good and made the day enjoyable. The guide told us something of what life is like on the islands in the Mekong where he grew up and what has changed as they have developed. The Mekong river is interesting and the boat rides around the islands are good. Lunch was included and was good.

It was a very good tour where you can see how the locals live around the Mekong River. Although it is reasonable, you can also experience wrapping a snake around your neck. Mr. BEN, who was our guide, gave us a lot of points to note and recommended points in Ho Chi Minh City, and we had a very good experience.
