My family and I visited Hohensalzburg Fortress on a rainy Friday. I booked tickets the day before with GetYourGuide. We parked our Honda Pilot in an outdoor lot on Petersbrunnhofstr. €15/24hr maximum. We walked up and around the base of the fortress, stopping by the active abbey Nonnberg. The chapel is dark and reverent. Continuing around the base of the fortress mount, we veered away from the castle to arrive at the ticket counter for the funicular railway. No issues with showing the confirmation on my mobile phone. We took the rail up the mountain and followed the signs to "A", where we got audio tour handsets for each person. My children ages 10, 8, 6, and 5 loved this portion of the tour. The audio tour options were based on age, and were very well done. This tour is highly recommended. This tour is not wheelchair accessible in my opinion.
The evening started with a delicious 4 course dinner, fit for Royalty. I booked a window seat at the restaurant that allowed me to enjoy the fantastic view while I dined. Immediately after dinner I was enthralled by the breathtaking and memorable performance of the talented musicians. I did not want the concert to end! But most good things don't last forever. This experience is definitely on my do-over list when next I visit Salzburg.
A highlight of our time in Salzburg. Sent friendly reminders and countdowns for the event. Worth it to upgrade to Blue - first choice of seating on cruise, upscale menu choices and seating, as well as prime seating for the concert. Everything is well organized and professionally done.
It was an excellent concert and one of the best Mozart music experience you can get in Salzburg. A must do activity if you do visit Salzburg.
Overall very happy with the price and experience that came along with our ha hung the Hohenzollern Fortress and Dome Quarter entry tickets.
