What people are saying about Huayna Picchu

Communication was a little poor, especially seeing how it was a non-refundable tour. I only got my travel details the day before. The Sacred Valley tour was probably with another agency, because the guide didn't know I had already paid for my entrance fees. It was odd how they split the group into 3 restaurants for lunch. I was then given directions to the train station, and left to take the transport alone to Aguas Caliente, which was a little unexpected and could have been communicated better. I was met by another guide Joel, who turned out to be the best aspect of this tour. A fellow hiker, he gave me wonderful directions and advice for my ascent. He gave so much information and helped me to recognise features within the ruins of Machu Picchu city where I'd have otherwise just seen rocks. I picked the option for Machu Picchu Mountain and it came with a Circuito 3 access + re-entry which was a great itinerary.

I had two tour guides, for the first and second half of the 2-day tour, and both were absolutely fantastic. I learnt so much from this trip, and both tour guides were so kind in explaining the cultural details of what we saw. The arrangements for transportation were perfect, and very easy to navigate. All the pick-ups were arranged so that I had nothing to worry about.

Our guide, Americo, went above and beyond what we expected. He met us at our hotel the night before for a briefing, took us to buy bus tickets, was extremely well-informed about everything at Macchu Picchu. We learnt so much from him! Definitely recommend getting a tour as it provides so much context to the site.

It was really fun to be there in this tour! The guide provided so many interesting facts! It was definitely worth it!

Love that they put all the solo travelers together :) great practice to continue
