3. Cappadocia: Full Day Guided Cultural & Historical Food Tour
First things first, coffee (or tea)! Sip on some aromatic Turkish coffee in a favorite local haunt with some fantastic views. After you’ve got some caffeine in your system, you’ll visit a local fruit and vegetable market. (Note: This is only open on Tuesday, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.) Feel free to try out any fresh produce you’d like.
Up next, you’ll head to Ortahisar where you’ll visit caves that were used in ancient times as food storage. Back then refrigerators didn’t exist and these caves were what acted as nature’s refrigerator.
Stop for lunch in a beloved traditional restaurant that serves authentic and home-cooked meals. Babayanevi is one of the few restaurants in the area that has a traditional tandoori oven. After lunch, you’ll head to a local farm where ingredients for a restaurant are grown.
Then you’ll have some free time to explore the tranquil village of Ibrahimpasa before heading to the Ortahisar Viewpoint. This vantage point boasts brilliant, panoramic 360-degree views of the town all the way to Uchisar and Goreme.
After taking some amazing photos of the view, end the day with a sumptuous wine tasting before heading back to your accommodations with your belly stuffed with tasty and unforgettable food.
