Full description
Your 2-day adventure begins with pickup from your hotel in Marrakech and heads towards the High Atlas Mountains via Tahnnaout, Oued Ghighaya, and Asni. Throughout the drive, admire stunning views of the surrounding landscapes as well as a glimpse of local villages along the valley. Arrive at Imlil and meet your trekking crew for the trip, then enjoy a refreshing mint tea to set you up for a day of exploring. With your guides, head out towards Azzaden Valley via the Tizi Mzik pass where you can marvel at panoramic views over the valley as well as several neighboring Atlas peaks. Lunch is served at the top of the pass, so you can admire the views while you eat, then continue down the valley through the Juniper Forest to arrive at Tizi Oussem village. Spend the night at this traditional Berber site, meet the locals and learn about their culture and way of life. Enjoy a delicious and authentic tagine dinner surrounded by the peaceful tranquility of the mountains. After breakfast on day 2, soak up the sunshine that lights up this colorful valley before heading out towards Id Issa village. Spend some time exploring then trek to Tizi Oudid mountain pass walking through Matat village along the way. Arrive at a walnut grove and enjoy a relaxing lunch next to the river. Finally, return to Marrakech around 5pm.

This was an absolutely amazing experience that I would recommend to anyone! The tour was well organized and all of the guides were super friendly and helpful. Our guide Mohamed was great, I’ve never felt so looked after! The mountains are beautiful and the guesthouse we stayed in was so cosy and comfortable. I’d definitely go back for a longer trek next time!

Overall 10/10 experience! Start of the tour was a bit iffy, they grouped us up with a different 1 day excursion and somebody doing a 3 day hike up toubkal, so there was a little confusion off the bat, but by noon we were paired up with our guide Mohamed and set out. First day hike was really nice, going through some villages and amazing scenery, and you end your day at a small lodge/riad with a picturesque view of the mountains. The hike itself wasn’t too difficult, only really ~3-4 hours of hiking (~10km) with a lunch in the middle, but we didn’t feel like taking too many breaks. Second day was pretty much the same, great hiking a great views, closer to 5 hours of actual hiking (~10km), and a good rest at the end. As a casual/intermediate hiker, this was the ideal trip. Never felt unsafe with Mohamed to guide us, and definitely got my fix of the Atlas Mountains. (As a bonus, you do get to meet and spend some time hanging out with your mule!)

excellent trip to start was picked up in a lovely air conditioned mini bus and took to a pint where I met my guide. then we headed of on our trek for roughly 6k then had lunch in a beautiful setting up high in the mountains with a amazing view lunch was amazing lovely home made fresh omelette salad bread and fruit. after lunch headed down slightly to a village where we spent the night in a lovely and welcoming lodge and had a beautiful chicken and vegetable tagine for tea. The following morning around 8:30 we went to the roof to enjoy breakfast which there was plenty of pancakes omelette s jam chocolate fruit fresh juice and coffee. After breakfast we headed back up and around the mountains roughly 11k which was challenging in parts but my guide helped and encouraged me when needed. When we reached the end of the trek the guide took me to his home for lunch his hospitality was first class and made me feel very welcome. the only issue was getting home the driver did not know where to go
