Ancient historians said this is ”the place where death is forbidden to enter and testaments are not opened.” The Asclepion is accessible from the Sacred Way and is a 1-km-long street. The Asclepion is the largest medical center of the period, including the serpentine column which became the symbol of modern medicine and pharmacies and was named after Asclepios, the god of healing and medicine. Findings reveal that surgical operations were also performed in Asclepion in addition to diets, hot and cold baths, and physical exercises as the three basic components. Patients were treated in this center with medicines, herbs, music, mud and sunbaths, and psychotherapy. Later, make an optional visit to the Pergamum Carpet Weaving School. Ertunga from Felicity Travel was very helpful and flexible. He worked with me to customize the tour to fit my schedule. The places on the visited were amazing. Although the scheduled went like clockwork, I had plenty of time at each location to see the sites and understand the importance/history of each place. The guides such as Özgür and Ali were very knowledgeable, accommodating, and friendly. Especially Özgür went above and beyond to make sure that I had a very good experience. I highly recommend this tour.

Really outstanding! Our guide was well prepared, clear, and very engaging. He was our best guide during our two week stay. He has deep historical knowledge and really wove together many centuries of history. We learned a lot and had fun. The driver was also professional and spoke English. Our van was super comfy, too
