Full description
Enjoy a mini-break away from the stress of Istanbul’s hectic streets on this full day tour offering one of the best alternatives to Turkey’s classic holiday destinations of Bodrum, Cesme, Kusadasi or Antalya. Polish immigrants founded the village of Adampol in the middle of the 19th century. In the beginning there were just 12 settlers, who created a small paradise on Istanbul’s backyard. Beautifully maintained and situated in a lush oasis of pine trees and surrounding greenery, it is today chiefly known as a place for sophisticated country family vacations. Indulge in the simple pleasures of life within the relaxing environment, where nature and culture unite. Get a generous helping of fresh air as you step back in time and wander through flowered pastures and luscious forests. Visit in the spring when everything is in bloom, or in the fall when the cherry trees come to fruit and the entire village celebrates with an annual cherry festival. Whatever time of year you visit, you will want to see Czestochova Mother Mary Church, surrounded by daisies and set at the end of a beautiful flowered lane. Remarkable in its simplicity, both inside and out, it sits opposite the peaceful Polonezkoy Cemetery, where you will find the graves of the Polish founders and first residents. During the day you will be able to rent a bicycle or go horse riding along lovely bridal paths. Visit some of the family-run farms where organic cherry and walnut liqueurs are produced. Or just relax and try some freshly baked Polish pies and breads in quaint village restaurants. Having experienced one of Turkey’s most unique locations on the doorstep of Istanbul, you will return to the city in the late afternoon.
