Prague: Karlstejn Castle & Glass Factory Tour with Lunch

1. Prague: Karlstejn Castle & Glass Factory Tour with Lunch

The tour begins with pickup from your hotel in Prague or from the meeting point, then heads out towards Karlstejn Castle just an hour outside the city. Admire the castle’s impressive architecture and learn about its rich-history, which dates back to the 14th century. Retrace the steps of powerful Czech kings as you explore the castle grounds and imagine what life was like here throughout the ages. Continue the tour to the next stop of the day, stopping for a photo at the stunning Velka Amerika along the way. Arrive at one of the country’s oldest and most famous glassworks, which has been operating since 1846, and embark on a guided tour. Discover the process of crystal glass art and meet local glassmakers hard at work. Before leaving, stop at the factory’s outlet to shop for a crystal glass souvenir. At the end of an insightful and memorable tour, enjoy a relaxing lunch at a local Czech restaurant. Dine on a delicious three-course meal with a selection of traditional dishes accompanied by regional beer. The tour returns to Prague at around 4:00 PM.

What people are saying about Karlštejn Castle

Our guide, Vladimir, was great! He communicated with me the day before the tour and met us where and when he said he would. We learned a great deal from him as he drove us to Karlstejn. Once at the parking spot he offered us the choice of walking up to the castle or catching a taxi up there. We chose the taxi. At the castle he turned us over to their English-speaking guide who led us on an informative tour that lasted nearly an hour. We walked down through the village to the van. It turns out that Get Your Guide doesn’t make clear that the glass factory is not open on Sunday so after our tour of the castle we went straight to the Kozel brewery for a tour followed by a delicious (and very filling) Czech lunch nearby. Thanks to all the food and Kozel, we were much quieter on the way home. Vladimir was kind enough to drop us off at our lodgings.

This was a delightful one day excursion into the countryside with our guide who was an excellent English speaker and who took us in a private van (just the two of us plus our guide) which made for a private tour that we enjoyed very much. The glass factory is not much to see, but the Castle is the real highlight. If you have a day to kill and want to get out of Prague, this might be the right trip for you.

Hello, The shuttle should be offered soon. HOTEL HAD TO TAKE CARE OF IT, ALTHOUGH BY E-MAIL AT HOME. Got no answer. Thanks to the hotel, it worked because the meeting point was too remote for tourists in the early morning. The tour with Vladimir was good. Have a good time Teresa

Everything was perfect. The castle is beautiful, its history very interesting and the view spectacular. Our guide Hana was very kind and helped us with everything we needed. 100% recommended.
