You will venture towards Mysore, stopping to see the sights of the Srirangapatnam City known as an old capital city at the ruling time of Tipu Sultan. Your visit to Mysore will begin with the Dariya Daulat royal residence known as the "Summer Palace of Tipu Sultan", embellished with Mysore paintings, floral wall designs and ceiling art. The next spot you will visit is Gumbaz Srirangapatnam, before moving on to the oldest Ranganathaswamy Temple and the Tipu Sultan Mosque. After lunch, you will drive to the Chamundeshwari Temple, which is located on top of the Chamundi Hills about 13 kilometers from the palace city of Mysore. The temple has a seven-story tall Gopura decorated with intricate carvings, and the deity of the goddess is said to be made of gold, whereas the temple doors are made of silver. The temple was named after Chamundeshwari or Durga, the fierce form of Shakti, who was a tutelary deity held in reverence for centuries by Mysore Maharajas. After the temple, you will venture back to Mysore to view the city from Chamundi Hill. At the conclusion of the tour, you will venture back to Bangalore, visiting Saint Philomena's Church on the way. Saint Philomena’s Cathedral is located on the Ashoka road to Mysore and is an impressive looking Roman Catholic church. You will be returned to your Bangalore accommodation at the conclusion of your tour.

Depart from Bangalore after breakfast and take a 2.5-hour drive to Lepakshi. Next, head to Veerabhadra Temple to explore this 16th century masterpiece of the Vijaynagara style of architecture. First, visit the section called Mukha Mandapa, which served as the dance venue and other cultural activities. Then, visit the Artha Mandapa, where the king worshipped and where the Garbha Griha houses the deity. Visit a unique wedding hall made of grey sandstone, where Lord Shiva and Lady Parvati were supposed to have been married in antiquity. One of the highlights of Lepakshi is the exquisite collection of paintings on the walls of the temple. Appreciate the rich textile patterns, detailed hairstyles of people, and exquisite jewelry depicted in the paintings. As per legend, giants inhabited these parts and built the old section of the temple. Look for evidence left behind by the giants as you make your way through the temple, before returning to Bangalore.

Excellent tour of Bangalore. We enjoyed the sites we visited very much along with the banana leaf vegetarian lunch. The guide and driver are very knowledgeable and polite. The vehicle was comfortable and safe.
