Full description

Leave Dublin for the day on a truly scenic drive with amazing scenery stretching as far as the eyes can see. Visit Kilkenny, Glendalough, and the Wicklow Mountains as you explore the heartlands of medieval Ireland.

From Dublin, head first to Kilkenny, once the medieval capital of Ireland and home to Ireland’s finest Norman castle. Discover a city steeped in history that was also the location of one of Ireland’s earliest witch trials, the famous story of Dame Alice Kyteler and her servant Petronilla. En route to Glendalough, drive into the wild Wicklow Mountains of County Carlow. Watch as the landscape changes from lush green pastures and gentle valleys to the glacial valleys of the Wicklow Gap.

Continue to the monastic city of St. Kevin at Glendalough, best known for the wedding scenes in the blockbuster movie “Braveheart” and famous as the location for the film “PS I Love You.”

Once you arrive in Glendalough, you’ll have time to explore one of the most beautiful sights in Ireland, in an area renowned for its magnificent scenery and monastic ruins that date back to the 10th century. Finally, return to Dublin.

The weather was except the weather)!not cooperating, but we stopped to see a beautiful lake in Glendalough and St Kevin’s Church (Kitchen) and round tower, and then Kilkenny and the Kilkenny Castle. Patrick, our guide, was probably the best guide we’ve ever had. Oh my goodness, I learned more about the history of Ireland in one day then I’ve ever heard, read or known in my life...and the pieces all fit together now! And he was funny and entertaining also! It was a wonderful tour on every level (

The Tour was really planned out and had lots of time in between stops where you could relax and listen to the guide. The bus was comfortable and the driver was really nice. The guide had a lot of information about Irish history in general and about the places visited.

    Awesome tour, awesome guide!

We went on a trip on 8th November and the weather was great! Fun, informative and even talented guide (best one on my Ireland trip, even played fiddle for us!), interesting tour with lots of beautifull cultural and natural sights. You get more than you paid and it’s certainly worth it. Would definitely recommend to everyone!
