Visit Balos, one of the best beaches in Crete, just 60 km northwest of Chania Town. Make your way to Balos through a road from Kaliviani, a village close to Kissamos. Cross this 10km-long road by an air-conditioned Land Rover and then hike for 20 minutes. On top of this island lies a steep Venetian castle with a gorgeous view of the region and the sea.
