Full description
When it comes to Croatian winemaking, the stunning Pelješac peninsula and the beautiful island of Korčula are two destinations not to be missed. The scenic peninsula of Pelješac stretches out like a green finger into the Adriatic Sea. Picturesque vineyards cling to rocky slopes dotted by the thick Mediterranean vegetation. A short ferry ride brings you to a beautiful island steeped in history – the island of Korčula. A trip to these jewels of the Croatian coastline makes for a magical day where you will be awestruck by the region's natural beauty while having the chance to sip exquisite local wines. The Pelješac peninsula personifies the best of the Mediterranean – a spectacular coastline and wild interior, hidden coves and beaches, vineyards, oyster bays, historic towns and villages, delicious food, and great wines. A short ferry trip brings you to the magical island of Korčula and its fairy-tale like walled town. The walled city, birthplace of Marco Polo, was first mentioned in the 10th century and every pristine stone has its own special history. This tour offers two spectacular destinations in one day all combined with exceptional cuisines and fine wines, making for a perfect day trip from Dubrovnik. And as the Croatian saying goes “A day without wine is like a day without sunshine”.

The problem with this tour operator was that they collected all passengers for all their tours then distributed them to the various buses depending on the tour they were taking. We were picked up at pile gate at 6:40 am but it took 95 minutes to get all passengers sorted out. We only started the tour at 8:15. Also on the boat to korkula we waited another 30 minutes for another group to join. These delays can be quite annoying as there are no toilet breaks planned. Other than these logistic issues, the tour was nice and the tour guide very good.

We really liked our stop in Ston. Hana did a great job translating everything into 2 languages. We enjoyed the tour of the peninsula, the boat ride to Korcula and having 3 hours to explore Korcula Town. Our only complaint was we had asked for an English tour and we were added into a mainly Spanish tour so we had to wait and be patient as everything was explained in 2 languages! On the bus, this was no problem. But for the walking tour of Korcula my husband was getting bored and restless as everything took twice as long.

Kruno the driver was also a great guide. Very kind. Ivan from the central office had excellent contact. Andrea in korcula gave a short guide with the keynotes, brief right to the point and with humor. The people at the winery was also excellent. In summary you will see amazing landscapes and listen to stories related to history. Just remember to always have kunas with you or your credit card. There is a good money exchange at korcula too. Rates better than Dubrovnic and split.
