Full description
On this 3.5-hour program you’ll visit Auschwitz, the largest German concentration camp of WWII, located on the outskirts of the Polish town of Ośiwięcim. A documentary about the camp and a guided tour by an English-speaking guide will teach you about the terrible tragedies that occurred and the many lives lost. In addition to the 2 main camps, Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau, there is also a state museum, established by the Polish government in 1947. You’ll find many artifacts on display, including personal possessions belonging to the prisoners. The museum is also dedicated to researching the Holocaust and is devoted to the memory of the individuals who died in the camps. This half-day bus tour begins and ends in Krakow. In the evening you’ll visit Klezmerhojs, a Jewish cafe in the center of Kazimierz, the city’s former Jewish district. You’ll enjoy the unique opportunity to listen to original Klezmer music and taste Jewish food.

Transfer and pick-up at all locations worked extremely well. The absolutely great driving, friendly and helpful driver from Krakow Tours (he immediately gave us his private high-quality umbrella when it started to rain) only handed us all the important vouchers and information after several inquiries from us. The separate organizer voucher (and not the Get-Your-Guide voucher) with a specific tour start is, however, absolutely necessary in order to be allowed through the security check in Auschwitz and then to be able to reach your group in the correct language, which is precisely timed. Likewise, we only received the other organizer voucher for the Klezmer concert after asking again from the driver at the end of the Auschwitz excursion. Furthermore, the Get-Your-Guide information does not indicate that it is a combination of completely different events with a 4-hour break.
