Full description
Your tour begins between 8:00am and 9:00am with a hotel pick–up. Head to to Oświęcim, located some 31 miles west of Krakow. The former Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau has become known as a place of martyrdom, suffering and death. Take a guided tour of roughly 3 hours with your knowledgable guide and discover the horrors of the Second World War. Then, move on to Wieliczka's Salt Mine. Wieliczka is one of the most beautiful places in Poland. Just 30 minutes' drive from Krakow, the famous UNESCO-listed salt mine is visited every year by thousands of tourists. Proximity to Krakow and good transport links make this area an attractive place to spend time. Around 7:00pm you will dropped off in Krakow after your tour.

This tour was exceptionally good, our only complaint is that some of the other tourists were tardy. Because of their lateness, we had no time to break for washrooms or lunch. We also arrived late into our restaurant at the Salt mines and therefor our guide (in an effort to get us fed and across the street to our Salt mine tour on time) has to call ahead to the restaurant and pre-order one dish for 27 of us in the group. We all ate the chicken dish. Of course it wasn’t a huge deal, but I felt our guide needed to be more assertive with the few members of the group who seemed to hold us up at every turn. Our guide was almost too nice, and the other travellers that were rude and disrespectful of our time really made the day a little less amazing. In speaking with several members of our group, we knew we were not alone in feeling this way.

Firstly, Michael, our guide, was fantastic and we felt expertly and thoughtfully looked after from beginning to end. The salt mines were a LOT of steps, but interesting. Auschwitz was horrific - to be expected.
