1. From Prague: Křivoklát Castle & Glassworks Visit with Lunch

Start the tour by departing from Prague in the morning. Then, travel through the beautiful landscape of Central Bohemia for approximately 1 hour in a comfortable air-conditioned minibus with bottled water and WiFi available onboard. Arrive at Křivoklát Castle, one of the oldest Czech royal castles, established in 1230. First, visit the amazing Gothic Chapel, the infamous Dungeon and Torture Chambers full of gruesome instruments, the monumental tower, and the King's Palace. Spend about 1.5 hours discovering the most important parts of the castle. After the guided tour, have the option to visit another castle tower where the famous medieval alchemist Edward Kelly was imprisoned in the 16th century. Also, check out the beautiful shop filled with traditional Czech products. Then, continue the tour with a 20 minutes drive to the stunning glasswork factories in Nižbor. Here, you can admire the art of traditional Czech crystal glass-blowing and discover the skills of the craftspeople which have been passed down through the generations. During the English guided tour, see some glass in production and find out about the entire process from blowing and breaking to grinding and polishing. Enjoy the opportunity to purchase amazing glass products in the shop at discounted prices.  After this, savor a tasty lunch in a cozy local restaurant. Enjoy fantastic traditional Bohemian-style food with a modern twist. Also, enjoy the chance to taste some local beer or wine. Finally, return to Prague by about 4 PM.

Great tour and tour guide. Hana was very knowledgeable. Loved that the glassworks tour was hands on. Very interesting castle but too bad the tour of the castle was only in Czech, but that is clearly stated by the tour company and is not something they can control.

Our guide Hana was one of the best guides we’ve had in the 40 years of traveling we’ve done. Her knowledge of the castle and the wonderful family owned glass works were both delightful experiences. We will definitely seek out Hana on our next visit to Prague.
