Venice: Grand Canal Private Boat Trip

3. Venice: Grand Canal Private Boat Trip

Sail up the Grand Canal on a guided boat tour, and cruise along some of the Giudecca canal. The Grand Canal is, without doubt, the most spectacular 'High Street' in the world. It's lined with beautiful palaces constructed over hundreds of years.  As you sail, you can easily imagine what it was like when it was lined with gardens, warehouses, stonemasons, and squeri, where gondolas were built. Discover why there are so many different styles of architecture and why so many of the buildings are of Moorish or Eastern style.  Experience first-hand why poets and writers, such as Shelly, Byron, and Browning, loved Venice so much. Then, nip down some of the city's more secluded waterways, unreachable by foot. Cruise under picturesque bridges, and explore a quieter side of Venice, where the façades of the city can only be seen from the canals

Venice: Giudecca Island Discover Walking Tour

5. Venice: Giudecca Island Discover Walking Tour

Discover the fishbone-like shaped Giudecca Island, known to be Venice’s unofficial seventh sestiere (neighborhood), on a guided walking trip of the Island. Once an aristocratic retreat and later the city industrial center, the island nowadays boasts a trendy artistic district. After meeting your guide for the day, set out to walk through characteristic Giudecca, the largest and closest island to Venice, from which it is separated by the broad and deep Giudecca Canal. Travel via waterbus to Giudecca and enjoy breath-taking views of the city on the way. The peacefulness of the island has also made it popular among religious communities and with patrician families who have built palaces with gardens and allotments here. You’ll get to see how, after the fall of the republic, these areas were converted into warehouses, barracks, prisons, factories, and workers’ quarters. Today, some of them have been converted for artistic and modern purposes. Walk through the long pedestrian quay running the length of the island’s Venice-facing side and wander around its hidden lagoon-facing side with lush gardens, inspiring galleries, and neighborhoods.

Wonderful experience! The weather was not the best for us, but Tomazzo was communicative with us about the likelihood of the excursion. Once we were on the water, Tomazzo served us Prosecco and told us much about Venetian history and culture. Though the water was choppy from the storm, our spirits were high as he guided us masterfully through the tour. 10/10 recommend.

Very great experience! The tour guide is knowledgeable and willing to share. Really happy that he took us to the larger canals outside of main island so that we could see the sunset horizon of Venice. One of the best sunsets I have seen! The drinks were very good too.

Excellent guide. Very knowledgeable. We saw parts of Venice and the islands we had never seen before. Very informative and enjoyable. The boat was great plus proseco and soft drinks. Don't miss this. It is well worth it.

Alessandro is particularly welcoming and attentive to his customers. A great experience that gave us another point of view of Venice with a magnificent sunset. I advise

Wonderful experience. All you could drink prosecco is never a bad thing!
