Full description
Swap the lights of Las Vegas for one day on a nature day trip and guided kayaking adventure in nearby Arizona. Travel to beautiful Willow Beach, surrounded by steep canyon walls along the Colorado River, the site of your kayaking activity. A great escape into rugged nature for the day. Start with a hotel pickup from the Las Vegas Strip. After arriving at Willow Beach Marina, get fitted for your kayak and away you go with your guide. Paddle north on the crystal clear Colorado River while your guide points out wildlife and geological features in your surroundings. Arrive at the Emerald Cave about 2 miles in — explore the grotto-syle cave with pristine green-colored waters. Remember your waterproof camera, you’ll need it. Next, take a short hike to visit the historical site of the River Gauger's home that overlooks the river for a great photo opportunity and amazing views. Here your guide will share history about the River Gaugers. After a quick pit stop for some snacks and refreshments, head back to the river with cool, flowing water that stays at 12 degrees all year round. Soak up the picturesque natural attractions as you meander your way back to your launching point, before catching your ride back to Sin City.

This tour was amazing and perfect for first time kayakers. It became a little tiring due to unexpected high winds, but I'd do it again. Our guide, Zach, was terrific and very patient and understanding as several of us went astray on multiple occasions. I didn't feel rushed or like a burden. He took time to allow us breaks to rest and take in the beautiful scenery. He also provided snacks and water at every stop. He took plenty of pictures of us to ensure we had the perfect backdrops and some good action photos. Just a heads up, the "cave" isn't very large at all but still worth the visit for beautiful pics with the breathtaking water color. Best time to go for perfect sunlight in the cove is approx between noon and 3 PM. Even if you miss the window, the experience itself is worth it. Riverdogz was the name of the company.

Alyssa was our tour guide and she was excellent! She was helpful, prepared and informative. The water is beautiful and clear. The water is cold but you will want to get in with the hot temperatures. The cave was cool and we did a small hike that has gorgeous views! They provided plenty of waters and snacks. Great time!
