Lucas was our guide, and was very knowledgeable about many aspects of Lima and its history. The car ride was very long, but we brought movies/books to entertain ourselves. We had a rest stop about an hour of the way in where we bought coffee and ate from the included “box breakfast.” We then continued on to Huacachina to ride the sand buggies and sandboard. After that, we flew over the Nazca lines in a Cessna Grand Caravan which was great except for the 60deg banked turns so everyone can see the lines. Lunch was after that at appx 2pm, and we skipped the wine tasting cause our stomachs were still struggling from the flight. The ride back took about 5 hrs as there was lots of traffic going into Lima. Overall a great experience.
We had the chance to experience the Flavors trending tour and the traditional one. Both were great and enjoyable experiences, different and complementary. Experiences that made our stay in Lima even more pleasant. We were amazed by the food diversity and quality. It wouldn’t be the same if discovered by ourselves thanks to the stories shared. Pablo and Pablito offered a great customer service. Pablito was really professional, dedicated and shared nice stories and knowledge about his town. All in all, we were really satisfied and happy about our tours and won’t hesitate to highly recommend for any visits in Lima.
We arrived 10 minutes early and the guide was already there and waiting for us. She started our tour right away. We wandered all around the historic district trying a number of savory and sweet treats, as well as several nice drinks. Our guide Diana was very knowledgeable about the history of the area as well as telling us lots about local foods in Lima. We had an awesome time on the tour and we would highly recommend it. We do food tours in most cities we visit and this one was one of the best. Make sure to come hungry.
Our guide was young Pablo (afro hair) who we enjoyed very much. The food (and drink) variety was extensive, and Pablo was knowledgeable about the flavors and preparation. And, there was plenty of food - glad we skipped breakfast before the tour. We liked this tour because it was more about the eating culture and flavors of regular working Peruvians - NOT just small tastings at high end restaurants. Would recommend this tour.
Fantastic tour. Pablo is so knowledgable about the culture, history and food in Peru. The coffee place that is the starting point is world class. Plenty of food tasters, you certainly won't need lunch afterwards. Great way to get to see Lima city centre and experience the food if you are in Lima for a short time. Would highly recommend!!
