Full description
Experience Lima from multiple perspectives on an epic full-day adventure. Discover hidden gems and historic sites, from the old to the artistic. First, travel up the hill of Morro Solar for a stunning view of Lima Bay. Then, get a quick safety briefing from your local guide before you hop-on your bike and cruise downhill, stopping at several points along the way to get an insight into the city's history. Stop for a rest in the quaint seaside neighborhood of Chorrillos. Then, head towards the bohemian district of Barranco, favored by artists, musicians and writers. Pedal along streets full of street art and murals, and then ride up the coast and into the Miraflores neighborhood on route to Love Park. Admire the romance-inspired statues and sculptures and reflect on the beauty of Lima before you. Before the exploring begins, stop to taste one of the best coffees in the world, Peruvian Tunki coffee. You will then walk to main square in Lima, Plaza de Armas, located in the heart of the old town and home to the Government Palace, Archbishop´s Palace and the Cathedral. This is the top tourist spot in the city. Next up, do a bit of shopping at the colourful Central Market. Your guide will help you navigate your way through all the various stalls, checking out the fresh products and learning about the eating habits of the locals. From jungle, to coast, to ‘altiplano’, or high plains, Peru has a rich and diverse food culture, and you’ll find examples of dishes from all over the country here at this market, and learn about them from a local. The breathtaking Basilica of San Pedro is next, a building so rich in history that it was named a UNESCO World Heritage site back in 1991. As you take in the views of the building and this square, your local guide will fill you in on its history. This Lima tour will come to an end here. You can continue to explore the city on your own from here or your local guide will be able to point you in the direction of your accommodation.

a great tour!

The tour consisted of two parts: at first a biking tour - maybe a too fast way how to discover the districts Chorillos and Barranco, more stops on the way would have been great. The walking tour (by Paula) in the old town of Lima was just great. She was very patient, answered all questions, showed us great places and told many stories about the history and current situation of Lima. Absolutely recommendable!
