Omodos Village and Kelephos Medieval Bridge Tour

8. Omodos Village and Kelephos Medieval Bridge Tour

Start your tour by heading to the Krassohoria wine villages. First, you will go to the expansive Paphos Forest and visit Kelephos' medieval Venetian bridge, which according to tradition is built on a camel trail. The trail was apparently used by camel caravans to transport mined material from the mines on the north side of the Troodos mountains to Paphos port. The local stream has water throughout the year. The setting is beautiful, with higher water flow during the rainy season and with more greenery in summer when the alders have their leaves and the bracken are full of life. You'll then move to Omodos village, one of the largest villages of Krasochoria. For years it has been well-known for its vineyards and wine and is still today known for its prime produce. Omodos developed around the ancient monastery of the Holy Cross (connected to St. Helen’s Passage to Cyprus) and is a popular destination for visitors. If you prefer, you can visit a less touristy village, for example Arsos or Vasa.

If there are Academy Awards for travel guides and travel companies then I would like to nominate Helena and Cyprus Taste Tours! I had an amazing Sunday filled with stories about local people & culture, fun encounters with local food and much more. Highly recommended!

Mayra was such a great guide! We went to three different wineries, loved the snacks in between. Very happy we booked the tour, especially since we were only 4 people (which made the tour very personal)

The overall experience was nice. The tour guide provided all of the information, everything was planned well and it was a pleasant day.

A fantastic trip, with delicious lunch consisting of local dishes. Cozy little company of 5 people and a skilled guide Theodora.

Very well guided hike through great landscape. A lot of information about history as well as geology and botany
