You’ll be picked up at around 9:00 AM from your accommodation in Taormina and head to Castiglione di Sicilia, a picturesque village that dates from the Medieval era. The wine produced in the Etnean region close to Castiglione is considered the finest in the area. You’ll be absolutely charmed by this town’s ancient architecture and quaint streets. Stop at your first winery, where you’ll taste locally-produced Etnean wines and an aperitif based on local products. You can also walk along the vineyards and see first-hand the wine grapes and learn about their production. At the second winery, taste 3 DOP (Protected Denomination of Origin) Etnean wines, paired with a complete lunch based on traditional products. Experinces in Sicily near Etna and Taormina The experience can be carried out in a vintage car, with the possibility of picking up the guest from their hotel (only on request and not included in the price). We will leave meeting the farmer of olive grove, where we will taste an extra virgin olive oil accompanied by a local focaccia. From here we will move to the medieval town of Randazzo to join the shepherd in his dairy. Here we will taste the freshly made ricotta and the Nebrodi Dop provola. We will also have the opportunity to milk the cows. After the experience with the shepherd we will go to a local pastry shop, to have a tasting of Sicilian cannoli, and some flavors of Sicilian granita, handcrafted. From here we will return to linguaglossa for lunch, which will take place in a local restaurant, where we will taste the Linguaglossa strain sausage. The lunch will also feature a platter of local products and a glass of wine. After lunch the experience will be concluded, the duration is about 6/7 hours. If there is the possibility, we will take a tour of the main streets of the town. This experience will give you the opportunity to discover an authentic Sicily, off the usual tourist itineraries. You will also discover the tradition of local food, characteristic of this area of Sicily.
