In the air, complete control over direction and speed gives your pilot the freedom to soar ridges, rise on warm currents of air and cover distance. The tour providers have a proven safety record from day one, a credit to company procedures. Each season starts with brand new equipment and well-maintained throughout the year. All pilots are internationally recognized Tandem Flight Instructors. Each passenger is briefed and issued with a helmet. All pilots carry complete reserve and communication systems and weather conditions are carefully assessed before you are taken up and again on take off. You will be ...

Fantastic experience. Earl was a brilliant pilot and easy to chat to. Will definitely be doing it again and recommending!

Meet your guide at the Lion's Head Hike - Starting Point. There is parking along Signal Hill Road if you arriving by car. Enjoy views of the city and the Atlantic Ocean at the summit with snacks and coffee provided before heading back down the mountain to the meeting point.

It was realllllly windy but Kyle assured it would be safe, just a bit challenging. I was a bit nervous but I’m so glad I went, it was FANTASTIC. Expect some fairly strenuous climbing but nothing anyone with a normal level of fitness can’t handle. The views all the way up are amazing but nothing beats the view from the top - absolutely breathtaking. Kyle was a very friendly guide who made us feel safe. The rooibos tea and snacks in the cafe were a great touch.

Guide was great and well prepared with headlights, extra backpacks, water and snacks. We did not receive transport from the hotel to the mountain. Lots of people were doing the hike without a guide so in terms of value for money, this was a bit expensive.

  • Cape Town: Lion's Head Sunset Hike

    8. Cape Town: Lion's Head Sunset Hike

This is a wonderful hike for families, as well as for couples, as the sunset is incredibly romantic from the top of Lions Head. View the Cape from 670 meters with panoramic views of the city, Table Mountain, Robben Island, and the beaches below including Camps Bay and Sea Point.  There are two paths that can be taken to the summit: the adventurous path using the staples and chains, or the easier route that avoids them. This hike is very popular all year round especially when the moon is full. Hike down almost with no extra torchlight, the moon can be so bright. If the moon isn't full when you tour, grab a head torch and wind breaker and head off. You are able to do a sunrise hike to the top, a day hike or even a sunset hike, according to your preference.

Lions Head hike with Lynette. She was really great and told us lots of interesting facts. I would totally recommend this trip.

At the summit, enjoy 360-degree views of Robben Island, The Twelve Apostles, and the sparkling coastline along the Atlantic seaboard. Once you've admired the beauty of the landscape and taken your pictures, be escorted back to the meeting point where the tour ends.
