Full description
Escape the hustle and bustle of Lisbon on a full-day tour of Sintra and Cascais, 2 small villages within easy access of the city center, and located in an area of protected natural beauty. Following a pick-up from your hotel, drive to Sintra Hills, home to fairytale palaces and castles. Look inside Pena Palace, considered one of the most beautiful castles in Europe. Enjoy a pleasant walk in the grounds, and admire views of Lisbon on the horizon from its balconies. Next, explore the picture-postcard village of Sintra, stopping to taste the local pastries and shop for souvenirs. Continue to Cabo da Roca to stand at the westernmost point of mainland Europe. Drive down narrow roads far from the tourist crowds. Travel along the coast road, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Tagus River. En route, stop at the fishing village of Cascais, transformed into a home for kings-in-exile and a site of espionage during World War II. Return to Lisbon along the magnificent Avenida Marginal, enjoying views of the Estoril Coast along the way.

I'm happy that I took this tour, which was well organized in time and route. It was as a friends get away, so relaxing and enjoyable, directions clear and for someone who is not into joining tours, made me change my opinion. It was a small group of 6 people, we all got along so easily. Recommended!

Despite the day was not as sunny as we expected and it was foggy and we couldn't have the view from Sintra, Ana has been a great guide and made our experience that day perfect. This is the best way to do Sintra, Cabo da Roca and Cascais Tour and I highly recommend. We even got water and could choose another drop off, which is normally at the place you're staying.

We enjoyed the day and our guide John very much. Despite the crowds John made sure we avoided lines and saw the major sites. We were not hurried and John gave us time to savor the superb weather. He was knowledgeable about the sites and Portugese history, especially since he began his work as a guide a year ago.
