  • Marvel at the "Praça do Comércio"
  • Explore the oldest neighbourhood of Lisbon
  • Taste some of Portugals most iconic dishes
Full description
Your tour begins at Ribeira das Naus, where many of the old Portuguese ships were built. Near Praça do Comércio you will see Cais das Colunas, an old shipping dock where both people and goods entered Lisbon during the Age of Discovery. Next up, discover Alfama, where some of the city's most authentic cafés and restaurants open their doors to serve delicious traditional cuisine and plenty of bonhomie. The ancient neighborhood is also home to traditional Fado houses, and this unique Portuguese musical expression can be appreciated in these rustic and romantic surroundings. Next up you will have the perfect opportunity to taste some of the most famous Portuguese tapas, stopping in one of Alfama's typical restaurants. There you will try codfish pastry, roasted Portuguese sausage (chorizo), cheese and honey with Portuguese bread and olives, and special canned sardines. All of this food will of course be accompanied by Portuguese red or white wine. To finish the experience, you will enjoy a famous pastel de nata (a custard tart) accompanied by Ginginha, a typical Portuguese sour-cherry liquor.
