Following a pick-up from your hotel at 8:30 AM, transfer along the coast by air-conditioned vehicle. The early start ensures enough time to enjoy the program without rushing, and the program can always be changed to best suit your preferences. Admire the views on the 1.5-hour drive to Nazaré. After a quick tour of the traditional fishing village, go to the wave watching site where the waves can be enjoyed for as long as you wish. Take a break from watching the surfers, and go to Forte S. Miguel Arcanjo, the closest fort to the sea that you can get to without having to suit up and swim. Pause for lunch in one of the many seafood restaurants, preferably one where McNamara himself always eats. Savor some of the best fish and seafood in the world. After lunch, and depending on the tides, there may be some more time to watch the waves before your return transfer to Lisbon. Alternatively, if there is still time, you can visit one of the neighboring places like Alcobaça or Obidos before the drop-off at your hotel at around 5:30 PM. Please note that waves or surfers in Nazaré cannot be guaranteed. The most probable time for waves to happen is between October and March but the local partner can only predict them a few days in advance.
