Full description

Leave the busy city of Lisbon behind as you travel to the quaint village of Sintra for your first tasting. Taste a ‘travesseiro’, a delicious Portuguese sweet made of soft pastry filled with egg and almond cream.

Learn about the history of bakeries in Portugal and learn why pastry confectionery is so dear to the Portuguese while you stroll around the beautiful village center. From Sintra, head to Colares, just 8 km away, for a wine tasting at the Adega Regional de Colares. The oldest wine cooperative in the country, the site was founded in 1931 and gathers more than 50% of the total regional production, playing an important role in the local economy.

This wine house boasts a dazzling interior due to the sheer number of casks it houses, this is where the aging process takes place. After the wine tasting and sampling, enjoy a guided tour of the site to see the process of winemaking, learn about its history, and discover how these wines have their distinctive flavor. After Colares, it's time to stop by a local restaurant to recharge your batteries and dine on a delicious Portuguese meal.

Next, cross the Sintra mountains all the way to the coastline to marvel at the stunning sea views. Enjoy a scenic drive along the waterfront and past the village of Azenhas do Mar, and the beach and surf destination of Guincho.

Finally, observe some local shellfish nurseries before heading for one final tasting in the Cascais Bay Area.
