Full description
Lake Bled is often mentioned as the pearl of the Slovenian Alpine region due to its emerald-green waters, picture-perfect postcard church on the island, medieval castle on the rocky cliff, and some of the highest peaks of the Slovenian Alps as the background. Take a short walk along the lakeshore as the beauty of the surrounding mountains reflects off the lake surface. No matter the season, you'll enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the lake and the fresh mountain air.  Perched atop a steep cliff more than 100 meters above the lake, Bled Castle is the iconic image of a medieval fortress, with towers, ramparts, moats and a terrace offering magnificent views. The castle houses a unique treasure - a reconstruction of Gutenberg's wooden printing press, on which the master printer will demonstrate old printing techniques using hand-made paper. Take the Pletna boat, a traditional boat known only to this region, to the tiny tear-shaped island on the lake. Upon returning from the island, stop at the local patisserie and taste Bled’s famous cream cake, kremšnita. In the last 60 years they have sold as many as 12 million of these cakes - they are definitely a can't-miss and a perfect way to top off your day.

Lake Bled with its little island is beautiful - the visit of Bled castle is a waste of money though except somebody wants to enjoy the view for a while. Inside there is nothing worth to see, the entire interior is modernly renovated. At least the guide was very nice and accommodating.

Truly wonderful guide who drove only myself, a young lady from Israel and a man from Italy. The guide discussed the history of the country, the countryside, all about the area and the castle, etc. Very knowledgeable and pleasant. The river and whitewater was beautiful to trek along and the forested area refreshing. The castle was a great historic site and the view was breathtaking. The young lady took a swim in Lake Bled while our guide took us to the boats for a ride to the island. Afterwards we all had a delicious lunch at a lake side restaurant. Wonderful overall!

Our guide Primoš was friendly and gave us a lot of information about Slovenia and its history. He knew a lot about his country, past and present. We enjoyed hw castle and boat trip to the lake. It is quite an expensive day as the entrance fees are quite high. We were not aware of what options we had in addition to the castle and lake - other reviews say they went around Bled and and the description of the activity mentions a Gorge. So Not a five star review but we had a goos experience.
