Bangkok: City Culture 3-Hour Bike Tour

1. Bangkok: City Culture 3-Hour Bike Tour

Discover the different and diverse cultures of Bangkok’s business districts on a gentle bike tour around the city center. Stop at a local temple, and pedal through the slums of the notorious “train-graveyard” en route to Talad Klongtoey market. Here, park your bike for a stroll around the fresh produce. Continue by crossing the always-congested Rama IV Road to go to Queen Sirikit Convention Center. Next, enjoy the peace of Benjakitty Park, a small, but nicely designed park with lovely views. Pedal along the so-called “Tobacco Monopoly” to see where Bangkok's cigarettes are made. Continue to the exclusive street of Thanon Witthayu, home to many embassies, and boasting an entrance to Lumpini Park, known locally as the “Central Park of Bangkok.” Watch locals practicing tai chi or yoga, and keep a look out for the resident monitor lizards. After a short break in the park, continue through some of the city’s small, hidden communities en route back to the meeting place.

Bangkok Slum Foundation, Market and Lizard Private Tour

2. Bangkok Slum Foundation, Market and Lizard Private Tour

Meet and greet your guide at your hotel in Bangkok and travel together to the Duang Prateep Slum Foundation. Watch a 15-minute introduction movie explaining Prateep's life work. Participate in one of the English classes, and interact and give something back to the children of this area. Take a walking tour through the slums and visit the handicraft shop where most items are handmade by the local people. When you are done at the foundation, walk through the biggest fresh produce market in Bangkok, Klong Toey market. See a beautiful fruit and vegetable section and try exotic fruits like mangosteen and starfruit. Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant, typical of the area. Head to Lumpini Park to spot Water Monitor Lizards. Keep a close eye on the water all around the park and you're sure to spot a few big lizards.

Great tour with nice guide, sometimes a bit extreme

We got a great insight into BKK, and our guide May was really nice. The tour itself showed good spots, I could have skipped the market. However, you should definitely be fit and skilled in biking. Sometimes, we cycled on one of BKK's busy roads what was a little bit dangerous in my opinion. Of course, May paid attention to us not being hurt or anything. Nevertheless, I didn't feel comfortable on the big, busy roads. All in all, I can definitely recommend the tour to everyone who feels safe on a bike and isn't afraid of traffic. Thank you very much for the awesome experience!

I highly recommend this tour.

I highly recommend this tour. The simple booking on the Internet one day before departure, the quick confirmation and the actual implementation of the tour were very good. During the bike tour, a different Bangkok is actually shown than what you usually see on a sight-seeing tour, whether organized or not. Really great. Thanks also to Eye, our guide.

Top private tour with a great tour guide!
