Straight into the museum and given comfortable earphones to listen easily to the guide. An overview, but a thorough overview, of the most famous artists and paintings in the museum. Plenty of time then to go back and look at those paintings again as well as so many more.

Macarena was a fabulous guide who knew all the artwork very well. She was great at explaining how to view and understand the art and the artists. She was very passionate and enthusiastic and taught me a lot about the art at Prado. Prado Museum is fantastic and definitely worth the visit.

Our guide was fabulous with fantastic English. Unfortunately, the museum is so packed we couldn’t even see some paintings. Unless you’re a real connoisseur, I would almost Side with the people who say skip the Prado and go to the Sofia de Reina and other sites in Madrid.
