I spare the visit to the jewelry factory. You lose a lot of time and then you have to run to see everything. If the group is very large, as was the case, there would have to be two guides, one Spanish and the other English to expedite and go a little faster.

If you are on holiday in Madrid for 1 week, you should definitely not miss Toledo. A beautiful medieval city with churches, palaces and monasteries on every corner. You can discover the city with a booked bus tour either alone or with a short city tour or with a city and basilica tour. I would recommend the latter, even if not that cheap. But a visit to the really incredibly beautiful basilica is simply a must and without a guided tour you simply don't learn enough. On my next visit, however, I will take the train or a rental car so that there is simply more time. The 7 hours were just way too short!
