Full description

Set out on this great adventure along the famed El Caminito del Rey. Discover the Conde de Guadalhorce Dam and explore the Desfiladero de los Gaitanes Canyon on an elevated trail above the Guadalhorce River.

Meet your guide and board your bus for a scenic ride toward Conde de Guadalhorce Dam. Begin your walking tour here, learning about the history of Málaga's main water reserve and what makes this stunning reservoir stand out.

Prepare to test your nerves on the 1-meter wide wooden walkways suspended 100 meters high on the walls of the Gaitanejo gorge. Embark on the breathtaking 3-kilometer journey through the Desfiladero de los Gaitanes canyon carved by the mighty river Guadalhorce.

Take the regal way as you stroll this historic route, built as a maintenance path over the channel connecting the river with the hydroelectric power station at El Chorro. It's known as El Caminito del Rey ("The King's Path") after King Alfonso XIII officially opened it in 1921.

See the old hanging bridges and remnants of the former passage used for transporting men and materials. Marvel at the relics of this former precarious path that was once considered one of the most dangerous footpaths in the world.

Travel back to Málaga from El Chorro, where the pathway ends. Revel in the adventure of this restored pathway that now brings the history of the region's waterways back to life.

Great tour. The ride was very comfortable and although the beginning process was a bit crowded (getting helmets, using the restroom, etc.), the rest of the trek was lovely. It is about a 5k walk but it was mostly flat, and a relatively easy activity. Be sure to bring water and snacks. There is a place to purchase food and drinks after the hike, but you will need water during.

The bus was comfortable and well ventilated. The tour guide was super nice, but her English was difficult to understand due to the Spanish accent, even though I speak English well. The environment there is really breathtaking and worth a visit. However, I think €50 is quite a lot for the services offered.
