Experience

Highlights
  • Admire the Caves of Drach and their greatest wonder, the underground Lake Martel
  • Admire the beautiful formations of rock during a synchronized light show
  • Choose a full-day visit to see the Caves of Hams and Porto Cristo
Full description

Explore the natural wonder and beauty of the Caves of Drach in Manacor. Learn from your guide about their history and formation, and finish your visit with a stop to find out about the Manaacor pearl farming industry.

After being picked up, head straight to the caves, formed millions of years ago by the water pressure of the Mediterranean Sea.

The Caves of Drach comprise 4 separate and gigantic caves full of impressive stalagmites and stalactites. The most interesting attraction of these caves is their 177-meter-long underwater lake, known as Lake Martel.

While inside the caves, admire a light show synchronized with the melodies of a small orchestra. Finish your visit with a stop at an exhibition on Manacor's pearl farming industry.

Learn all about the manufacturing process of these classic gems. Or, if you choose the full-day option, continue with a visit to the Caves del Hams, famous for its fish-hook-shaped stalactites and stalagmites—the cause of their unique shape is still unknown.

Then, finish off your full-day tour with a visit to the beautiful Porto Cristo, on the eastern coast of the island.

Good activity. The bus was about 50 minutes late, despite that everything was done on time. There were few people in the caves, so there was no waiting and the truth is that they are beautiful, you have to get to know them. I think stopping at the pearl "factory" is just to buy something, since they don't teach you anything about pearls. Excellent guide and driver! The guide was showing you things about the place along the way and the driver was driving calmly. You're back around 3:00 p.m. Worth it. Ahhh and Porto Cristo is beautiful. They give you about 2 hours and if you like to walk, you can take advantage of going to some coves nearby or eat in the different places in front of the beach.

It was very worth it. You should really visit the caves. A great experience. The drive there alone was an experience, because during the drive the driver gave some information about the island of Mallorca in 4 languages. German, Spanish, French and English. There is a touching surprise in the cave. It's really worth it. Many thanks to the organizers for such a nice experience.

It is a great program, the two caves are marvellous. Well organised trip with a longer free time at Porto Cristo, so you can swim in the sea. Please, if you book this excursion tell your kids beforehand that it is NOT funny to hold a clapping contest while the quartet plays classical music at the lake in the cave.
