Full description
The tour begins with pickup from your hotel in Marrakech in the morning and heads south through the Plains of Haouz towards Asni, which lies at the base of the High Atlas Mountains. Arrive at the first stop of the day, an Argan oil cooperative, and learn about the fascinating process of producing Argan oil from start to finish. After your introduction to the world of Argan oil, the tour continues south, passing by the Kasbah Tamadot which was once part of the Virgin Empire and is now a luxury retreat. Arrive at the second stop of the day, Imlil village, and enjoy a 2-hour mountain trek through the surrounding landscapes with an expert guide. Alternatively, you can rent a mule for the trip. Along the way, marvel at stunning waterfalls and breathtaking views, as well as stopping by local Berber villages and the hamlets of Ait Mizan, Targa, and Imoula. Trek towards the Kasbah du Toubkal next and enjoy some drinks at your own expense such as a refreshing mint tea. Sit back and relax as you admire some of the very best views the High Atlas Mountains have to offer, then head to a nearby Berber guest house to dine on a traditional Moroccan family meal. Finally, journey back to Marrakech with an expected arrival time of 6pm.

We had a great day! Our guide was absolutely fantastic, he showed us around the villages and was very knowledgeable and friendly. He also spoke really good English and French. I would have liked a slightly longer time actually exploring the mountains and walking along the trails, though I understand everyone has a different level of trekking experience. We also had an unexpected 15min camel ride at the end of the tour which we felt wasn't needed and wasn't on the itinerary. That also meant that we left the mountains earlier than I would have wanted to get to the camels nearer to Marrakech. All in all we had a great day, but would like this to be more focused on the mountains.

The tour was very interesting and informative. Our guide Said was able to tell us a lot about the Berber people. The people we met were extremely friendly and at the event of the argan oil cooperative we felt no pressure to necessarily have to buy something. Only the hike could have been a bit more extensive. Overall, however, it was a beautiful and varied day.

Really nice experience to escape the bustling city

After a few days in Marrakesh we have been looking forward to this day trip to escape the bustling city life - and we definitely had a great nature experience. Our tour was guided by Ibrahim, who was very patient with our large group and gave us a lot of background information about life in the Atlas Mountains, the Berbers and the importance of mint tea. A short hike to a waterfall was a welcome change after the long drive and the tasty lunch.
