Blue Grotto & Sunday Market at Marsaxlokk Fishing Village

1. Blue Grotto & Sunday Market at Marsaxlokk Fishing Village

Your 5-hour tour starts at the Blue Grotto. Made up of sea caverns on the southern coast of Malta, the Blue Grotto caverns are west of Wied iz-Zurrieq Harbor and across the small uninhabited islet of Filfla. Every day from sunrise until about 13:00 the cave's unique location allows sunlight to reflect in the water to create numerous shades of brilliant blue. Several caverns mirror the brilliant phosphorescent colors of the underwater plants. Other caverns show a deep dark shade of blue. If weather permits, you can do a 20 minute boat trip around the caves for an extra fee. You will then drive to the fishing village of Marsaxlokk. Vibrant, colorful Marsaxlokk Market offers a great opportunity to experience the local life. I had a beautiful and was able to do the boat ride at the Blue Grotto. For me, it was worth the 8 euros to take the 20 minute boat ride out. I lived it. and going to Marsaxlokk was good too. We had 1.5 hours to wander the market and buy souvenirs or buy something to eat. the guide Mark was impressive doing his talk in English, Italian and French. it was a nice way to see the small island of Malta on the drive.

The boat tour of the grand harbour was the best part - Gerald was a delightful guide. It was awesome to see and learn about the 3 Fortified cities and the history behind them - this involved quite a bit of walking, an opportunity to get in some steps while on holiday

We enjoyed the tour very much. The guide Mark was charming, professional and interesting. He is very kind and answered every question. He told us about Malta and the Maltese language. The people traveling were really nice.

It is a good tour. Jackie is a good guide. We could use some more time in Cospicua. The boat ride was the highlight.

Brilliant tour! Tour guide was amazing. I did skip the lunch to have extra time in Mdina though
