  2. From Gran Canaria: Day Trip to Tenerife

  Take advantage of this magnificent chance to visit Tenerife at an exceptional price during your stay on Gran Canaria. Benefit from hotel pick-up, and then board the 1-hour boat crossing in Agaete. Upon arrival in Santa Cruz, avail of world-class shopping or go for a walk along the beaches. Marvel at Santiago Calatrava's futuristic Auditorio de Tenerife or relax in the renovated Parque García Sanabria. Hop on the tram to La Laguna if you prefer to explore a city designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site as a unique example of a colonial city built without a surrounding wall.

  If you are staying in Gran Canaria and wish to visit some of the other Canary Islands on a day trip, this is probably the easiest way. Each island has its own climate, vegetation and landforms (and the major islands have multiple climate zones as well), so you need to travel around to get a feel for the Canary Island, rather than just stay in one place. Roads in the interior of the islands can be challenging for a foreign driver, so excursions by bus or van are a better choice. There are two options for the time spent in Porto de la Cruz on this trip: either a visit to Loro Park (a large zoo and marine park), or a walk on your own through Puerto de la Cruz. The first option is probably better for families with children. We took the second option because we visited many other marine parks before, and we do not feel comfortable watching orcas and dolphins in captivity.   3. Gran Canaria: 6-Hour Teror and San Mateo Markets Tour

  Visit 2 markets for the price of 1 on this 6-hour tour. Travel to the green heart of the island to the village of San Mateo. Explore its traditional market to see typical Canarian handicrafts, and visit a flea market and flower market as well. The second stop is the pilgrimage village of Teror.   Teally good trip. Very informative, the giide, Tom was really enthusiastic and kept your interest. Got to see 2 lovely little towns and had a really delicious meal ( optional price but well worth it. Would definately recommend this trip.
