Take a look around the museum styled to look like a house from the 1800s.   Next, go to the distillery where mezcal is made using agave plants and stop at the bird sanctuary. Get to see more than 70 species of birds, including macaws, parrots, parakeets, flamingos, and toucans, all of which have been rescued.   Head into the former dungeon turned cellar where wine, mezcal, and sake are kept. Then walk around the gardens to see the different types of cacti and agave growing there.   Go to the reptilian land where more than 200 iguanas live and you can interact with them. At the end of the day, you can enter the sky bar if you want to have a drink while enjoying the views.

Chose the 4pm time slot so we had time for the tour and then enjoy a drink during sunset. The site was easy to get too but difficult to get a taxi from the observatory due to its location from town.

We had such a wonderful time - loved everything!! Deer Island is beautiful! Our guide was sweet, supportive, funny and knew a lot about the island and history of the area. Would highly recommend!

The guides & the river experience was fantastic! The whole experience was great! Oh! And, the food at the end was unbelievable!!! Highly recommend this trip!
