Full description
This small group (max 8 guests) hiking tour is made for those who want the best of the beach and the mountains. You arrive at Wilsons Prom and embark on the first hike for the day which goes through beautiful terrain and emerges to the vastness of “The Big Drift” Wilsons Promontory sand dunes. An out of this world and inescapable view that can be often overlooked. Once you return, you will take a small drive to the general store for some lunch. Next, it’s time for the second hike of the day, a 7.8 km return journey to the famous Mt Oberon. From the summit, you will experience arguably the best coastal views in Victoria. Next stop is a favourite, Squeaky Beach. Here you can wander on the incredibly white rounded grains of quartz which make a squeaking sound giving this popular local beach its name. Finally, upon departing the National Park, you will make a stop to see some native furry friends. There is a high chance you’ll see Wombats, Emus, Kangaroos and Wallabies going about their daily business.

I had a wonderful day with Lorinda as our guide. It was over 35 degrees, and there were no clouds at all - what a day! The view was amazing at the top of the mountain, and the seawater was so clear and cool. Lorinda shared many fun facts about native animals with us. It was a sweaty and enjoyable tour.

One of the most amazing hikes in the world with the best view of Victoria from the top of mount Oberon. Michael did a great job helping the group feel as a team, socialise and chat along the hike. I’ve met some amazing people on this tour. And it’s cool that there were only 8 of us. We followed all the safety rules due to covid, but didn’t feel like a burden at all. I suggest everyone should go on this simple hike, unless you have 3 days to camp at Wilson’s prom. I didn’t have that luxury of time, so we’ve seen plenty for a one day trip.

It was a lovely day! We had really good wheather, no wind, clear sky and sunshine! We first visited the dunes, then hiked to the top of Mount Oberon with an amazing view and ended the day at Squeeky beach. It’s quite a long drive from Melbourne CBD but absolutely worth it. I’m the morning we stopped at a bakery to buy some lunch (but you can bring your own of course if you like) and I guess everybody eat it on the top of the mountain. No stop was made for dinner /take away so prepare yourself for this
