  • From Krakow: Auschwitz-Birkenau Tour with Pick-up Options

    7. From Krakow: Auschwitz-Birkenau Tour with Pick-up Options

Visit the former Nazi concentration camps at Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau on this 7-hour trip from Krakow. By June 1940, Jews and over 700 political criminals had been sent to Auschwitz and the atrocities had begun. Birkenau was built by Auschwitz prisoners and by October 1941 was used as an extermination camp. Between 1 and 1.5 million were killed, and approximately 90 percent of those killed were Jews. Before Auschwitz-Birkenau was liberated in January 1945, the SS attempted to blow up the camp and destroy the documentation. They were only partially successful, and the Polish government decided to restore the site as a memorial to the victims.

The staff is very polite and helpful, they provided an awesome experience for us. They were also very on time and the rides to and from Auschwitz were smooth. The informative video during the trip was also a very nice touch. Our driver was also very nice and careful!

What people are saying about Memorial and Museum Auschwitz-Birkenau

Very well organized, no extra money to pay on site Excellent driver, very friendly and on time. We were 7 people in the minivan, trip from Krakow was less than 1h30 min. The driver picked us up at our hotel. Since we were a bit in advance, we visited one train rail outside the camp. Then, he left us in front of the first camp to start the visit with a guide. After the first visit, small break to eat and we took again the van to go to the second camp, where we found again the same guide from the first camp. At the end of the visit, back to Krakow.

I definitly can recommend the Trip! Pawel was a really nice tour guide, who told us a lots of interesting facts. Thank you! :) Also there is enough Time to take your time in Ausschwitz, which is really helpful.

The tour was very good. Pawel is very kind and helpful. We were a big family with my mom using a cane and he helped us to get a wheelchair to make us enjoy more the tour. I really recommend him.

Both our guides for the day were superb and we had an excellent driver and very executive bus. I would definitely recommend booking all your krakow tours here. 1st class service all day

i can only recommend this tour. both our tour guides were great and also our driver. 5 stars
