Full description

Discover the majestic pyramids of Teotihuacan on an early-morning tour departing from Mexico City. Explore the site with your guide and learn more about the pre-Hispanic history of Mexico.

After being collected from the lobby of your hotel by minibus, you will be taken to the archeological site of Teotihuacan, where you’ll marvel at some of the most impressive pyramids in the world.

You can see and climb the Sun and Moon pyramids, visit the Temple of Quetzalcoatl, walk through the Avenue of the Dead, and much more. You will then be taken to a clay workshop where you will learn everything about the pulque, silver, and clay processes, manufactured by local people.

Whilst there you will also learn about how all these activities were done years ago, and you will be even invited to taste some tequila, mezcal, and pulque. Following this, you can enjoy delicious Mexican food and drinks (not included) during an allocated short break. Your tour will then conclude with you being taken back to your hotel or preferred nearby location at around 3:00 PM.

It was truly a wonderful experience. Francisco was so efficient, energetic with enthusiasm and provided unique knowledge of the history of Teotihuacan. Our group was wonderful and would recommend anyone to use Francisco’s services and booking a tour on Get Your Guide. They picked me up at my address I was staying at and dropped me off there too. Thank you Francisco for an amazing tour.

We really enjoyed the excursion. This was mainly due to our great tour guide Alan Fernando! He could tell a lot of interesting things, even beyond the sights. He is also very funny and knows how to entertain the group. He also took the time to answer all questions. His English is great and he can also speak German, which was a great surprise for us. Also our driver Hector was great as he got us through traffic safely and was very nice too!

It was nice to go to Teotihuacán early in the morning, as there were less people there AND you got to see hot air balloons (which apparently only happen in the mornings due to atmosphere), so those made for a great spectacle. The restaurant for lunch was okay—definitely a tourist trap. The group was a bit too large.
