Full description
Have fun and feel the passion with the best wrestling tour. On this tour, you will enjoy the incredible panoramic view on board of the double floor bus with a retractable roof visiting Monumento a la Revolucion, Alameda Central, Glorieta de Colón, and Parroquia de la Sta. Veracruz. Arriving at Arena Mexico you will receive a free mask and a shot of tequila and will live and understand the culture of the wrestling art, explained by the guide. Mexican wrestling began in 1840, one hundred years before it became an official sport. The first wrestling took place in public squares, theaters, bull rings, or any small box ring where fight demonstrations take place. At the beginning of the 20th century, most of the wrestling promoters were foreigners, for example, the Italian Giovanni Resselech, who organized two wrestling seasons in 1910, and the Belgian Constant le Marin, who first made a presentation including a Mexican versus a Romanian wrestler in 1921. With this background and the increasing popularity of this activity, the first wrestling function was made in the Arena Mexico in September 21st of 1933, on the previously called Arena Modelo.

The tour is nice! When you meet then there’s a bus to hop on. We receive a mask, a small shot of tequila and the guide starts explaining about the “lucha libre”. When they drop us off we have a few minutes to wander around the market And then we receive the tickets to get in. It was a bit confusing this part because the guide seats everyone. It took around 20 to seat us. The seats are very far back but you can see the arena. The wrestling Was very cool!

Great experience

Great fun and good to go with a group for a bit of added atmosphere. Bus to and from the arena was good and the guide helped us ordered drinks in there but got to say being 20 mins late was a bit poor considering that's all he had to do and the first match had already started by the time we got there. No opportunity to buy souvenirs at the end if you wanted to. Would recommend the wrestling for sure.

Overall great, but better info beforehand please

I was instructed to arrive at six and to not be late. When I got there the hostel door-guy told me it wasn't until 7:30. Really wished I would have known that beforehand. Otherwise our guide was excellent (Sandy, I think) She was knowledgeable and helpful, and very ready to answer questions . The event was awesome. Safety~wise the area was overall fine and I think you should definitely go.
