Full description

Spend a full-day traveling to St. Moritz on this exciting rail journey. The Bernina Express is one of Switzerland's most scenic railways, climbing more than 1,800 meters, making it the steepest railway journey in the world. Round-trip transfer from Milan is included in the tour. Your rail journey begins in Tirano, Italy, and takes you all the way to the world-renowned Swiss mountain resort of St. Moritz. Tirano is a picturesque Mediterranean town in a mountain setting dotted with palms and oleanders. Take a panoramic train ride from an altitude of 429 meters up to 1,829 meters, crossing the spiraling viaduct at Brusio and the Bernina Pass to the alpine valley known as the Engadin. On the journey, marvel at the scenery of the Alps. UNESCO named the Bernina route a world heritage site. See monumental glaciers, cross steep gorges, and pass through tunnels under some of the area’s most massive mountains. In St. Moritz you’ll have time to explore Switzerland's most famous mountain resort before the return journey to Milan.

The overall trip was very good! Special thanks to our guide Lina & driver Marcello. But it was a bit taxing in terms of duration of the whole trip. Bernina express was great, but you get to view important panorama only from one side of the train. I liked the stop at Saint Moritz. Will go again and choose a different route, but maybe in winter.

This was a great trip. I booked it in London before I left. it was well run, with stops for a coffee and bathroom break taken into consideration. The tour guide and driver were informative and friendly. Very approachable and friendly, they were really considerate. Both train and coach were comfortable with fantastic views. I would really recommend this trip.

The bus is punctual, the guide is very good. However, the route has been different from what was established in the announcement since we went first to St Moritz and in Tirano we were not directly, since from the train you get off directly to the bus back. In St Moritz we were around 1h30min, which we consider little. The train is the regional one, not the panoramic one, in this one they are windows of a train and they can be lowered halfway. IT IS NOT THE PANORAMIC VIEW TRAIN CALLED BERNINA EXPRESS. However, the guide was very nice and professional, everything he spoke in English after he said in Spanish, so we found out everything and recommended places to eat and see in St. Moritz. The train is a very beautiful experience and one that everyone should do.
