Full description

Take a day trip from Barcelona to visit Monserat. Take in the mountain views, visit the famous monastery, then head to a local farmhouse for a delicious dinner.

Begin in the upper part of Passeig de Gràcia. Then journey to the natural splendor of Montserrat, Catalonia’s most emblematic mountain topped by a Benedictine Monastery. Montserrat is an ideal trip to spend a day in nature, just a few kilometers away from Barcelona.

En route to the Monastery, admire the Massif of Montserrat, a multi-peaked rocky range packed with needle-shaped formations. Upon arrival, visit the Monastery, which was founded in the 10th century and still functions with 150 monks to this day.

It famously hosts the dark figure of La Moreneta, who is the patron saint of Catalonia. Your guide will explain the Monastery's history, which dates back nearly a thousand years. After the visit, you will have free time to buy a souvenir and take pictures.

Next, visit a farmhouse with stunning views. Enjoy a delicious 3-course menu; consisting of salad, barbecued food (with vegetarian and halal options), and dessert. Following this adventurous day, return to the center of Barcelona by private transport.

A must do tour! Our guide Richard was really helpful and such a nice person. He was super knowledgable and gave a great tour around the monastery. The location is breathtaking and we had ample free time to look around and enjoy it. If you want to see the black Madonna you need to pre book a time.I would suggest going sooner rather than later as the queues can get quite long. After the monastery you get the cable car down the mountain. It has amazing views but is very high if you are scared of heights! The location for lunch was lovely and very quaint. You will definitely not go hungry there was so much food which was all delicious. An amazing tour all around and I would definitely recommend it if you would like a day out of Barcelona. Big thank you to our driver and guide for making the day so special.

Very lovely experience with a delicious lunch. The weather was perfect as well. I think the only recommendation would be to provide more time to go inside the church or advice to book a head of time time to see the virgin inside the cathedral. 100% recommended. Our guide was lovely.

This is a fabulous trip. our guide was engaging and very knowledgeable about both Barcelona and Montserrat. Tips to get the most out of your tour: 1) as soon as you book this tour, try to book a reservation for the 1pm mass to see the boys choir, orherwise you will have to stand in a long line and you may not get in. (we didn't get in). The mass is about 15 min long. 2) book your online ticket/reservation for the Black Madonna based on whether you got a reserved ticket for the mass. 1:15, 1:30 or 1:45 would work well. 12:45 will only work if you have a reservation for the mass. The farm house lunch was delicious! Be prepared for a curvy (but beautiful) ride up the mountain and to the farmhouse.
