Highly suggest having a guide to go through a tour like this because it brings the experience to life. Also getting to Dachau was so easy having someone in charge. I find that my husband and I always argue about how to get places and this took away that issue. Our guide Keith was awesome and brought all the stories to life with his passion for the topic. We loved hearing his accounts of talking with survivors.

This was an excellent tour. It was very easy to find the meeting point, and after that our tour guide assumed responsibility, there was no trouble reaching Dachau. Our guide was very knowledgeable and an excellent speaker, as well as being very open to questions and willing to chat. He handled delicate subject matter with a lot of respect, and was serious at the right times and lighter during some more entertaining stories. I would put a warning out that it is quite confronting and there are videos and pictures that are very hard to see, although incredibly important to the whole experience. I think it was definitely worth paying for this tour. Choosing a day with nice weather would be ideal, as there is a lot of outdoor portions of the tour and a short walk from the bus stop to the camp.

Kai was an excellent guide and painted a harrowing picture about this camp's origins and later development and dehumanizing effect on people from both sides. It is truly horrific to see and understand what went on in these grounds, but what is even worse is the realisation that you recognize a lot of the tactics used back then still been used today.
