From Santiago: Finisterre, Muxia & Costa da Morte Excursion

1. From Santiago: Finisterre, Muxia & Costa da Morte Excursion

After getting picked up from your hotel in Santiago de Compostela, begin your journey along the Galician coast. Your first stop will be at a traditional Galician village. Here, head to the top of a Roman bridge where you can admire breathtaking views of the river. Next, head to Muxia Lighthouse, where you can visit the famous sanctuary and head to the top of the lighthouse for a unique coastal experience. Continue your tour with a visit to the region's most important lighthouse, Finisterre. From atop of this picturesque lighthouse, admire panoramic views of what was considered by the Roman's to be the end of the earth. Break for lunch in the town of Finisterre before heading to the Ezaro Waterfall, the only waterfall that arrives directly into the ocean. Later, head to Carnota, where you can see the largest horréo, an old granary suspended by pillars, in existence. Finally, head to the village of Muros, a traditional coastal village. Enjoy some free time for a coffee or stroll around the main square before heading back to Santiago.

From Santiago: Cape Finisterre and Muxía Full-Day Tour

2. From Santiago: Cape Finisterre and Muxía Full-Day Tour

Departing from Santiago, the first stop will be Muros, a traditional coastal village clearly influenced by the Galician culture and tradition. Explore the fascinating and picturesque old town, brimming with authentic restaurants and cafes. In Ézaro, catch the spectacle of the Xallas River waterfall, the only one in Europe that runs straight into the sea. Continue to Cape Finisterre, and stop by the lighthouse, the most important landmark on the Coast of Death. Its light has guided ships along this dangerous coast. Enjoy some free time for lunch. Stop in Muxía by the Sanctuary of Nosa Señora da Barca, beautifully located on the seafront. According to tradition, Our Lady appeared to the apostle St. James at this place. Enjoy the grand scenery in front of the rough Atlantic Ocean. Finisterre is the end of the ancient world: the place where pilgrims who come to Compostela meet the immensity of the ocean. The last stop before heading back to Santiago will be at Ponte Maceira, a transit point for those pilgrims that head towards Fisterra.

Awesome day. Lots of stops but we were given a good amount of time at each. I don't know if I can pick a favorite! Ash is an incredibly knowledgable guide. I was amazed by how much content he was able to fit in/share in both Spanish and English. I understand both languages and did not notice one language receiving more information than the other. If you love coastlines and visiting small towns, I would highly recommend this tour!

The excursion is very complete. The sites visited are worth it. Maybe there should be more stops before lunch and leave the afternoon relaxed because it got heavy at the end. The last stop to see the meat horreo was only 19 min and, although the hórreo is very good, it could be eliminated because we were very tired

The guide shares a lot of super interesting information and speaks very good English. The tour is very entertaining, well organized with time to enjoy the points of interest individually. The driver very flexible with the pick-up point, safe and friendly. Highly recommended for all ages and tastes!

Thanks to Ashraf knew a lot of Galician culture. Excursion planned with a personal touch. Highly recommend.

The great visit, 7 stops in very beautiful places.
