Follow in the footsteps of Catholic pilgrims on a full-day sightseeing tour of Central Portugal from Lisbon. Transfer from the Portuguese capital, and drive through a vast variety of landscapes. Your first stop will be the extraordinary town of Fátima, where an apparition of the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared before 3 children every month between May 1917 and October 1917. Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant (own expense) far from the tourist crowds, and get a taste for authentic Portuguese food. Continue to the fishing port of Nazaré for panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. Popular with surfers, Nazaré was the site of a 79-foot wave, surfed by Garrett McNamara in 2011. We really enjoyed our tour of Fátima, Nazaré, and Óbidos. Manuel was very confident, enthusiastic and carried himself well in explaining all the historical landmarks and even the smaller details like symbols. He gave us plenty of time to visit the three areas and we were lucky to go at an off-peak day so we did not encounter much queues. He took great care of our little group and was well equipped with things like umbrellas and a step stool. I recommend this tour!

The overall trip was wonderful and fantastic The tour guide did an amazing job. She is very knowledgeable and explained the history of each place very clearly. But I wish I could have a little more time in Fatima.
