Full description

Experience 2 typical Louisiana features—plantation homes and bayous—on a guided day trip from New Orleans with hotel pickup. Tour Oak Alley Plantation, with entry tickets, included, and look out for wildlife on a boat trip through the swamplands.

Start with a pickup from your French Quarter hotel. Head out of New Orleans and travel to Oak Alley Plantation, one of the best-known in the area. Built in 1837-39, the plantation is famous for its alley of 28 evenly spaced live oak trees.

Take a guided tour of the historical plantation and gain an educational insight into the times of slavery.

Afterward, enjoy a fully narrated boat tour of the swamps. Keep a lookout for alligators, turtles, water birds, and other local wildlife. Listen as your captain tells stories of local Cajun and Creole history, and the people who live in the Bayou area.

Finish your tour with the return journey to New Orleans, where you’ll be dropped off at your French Quarter hotel.

I did this tour on 07/25 with captain Bishop Keller for the swamp tour. The guy was amazing. I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed the boat ride haha. Very dry humor and lots of dad jokes. We saw tons of gators and even got to hold a baby one (Bishop was very mindful about it and made sure no one was mistreating it)! After, we went to oak alley, which was very interesting. I imagined it bigger but the story wasn’t less moving. Our bus driver “Big Joe” also did an amazing job telling us all kinds of interesting information about everything we saw on the way to the actual tour.

This was an excellent tour and worth the money! Both the swamp boat tour and Oak Alley are awesome places to go to. Monty, our driver was an excellent driver, tour guide, and both picked us and dropped us off at our hotel with accuracy. We didn't need about anything on this trip. Just remember that they do not provide food other than a few things in their ticket booth, so bring a lunch or snacks to get you by. There is a Cafe and restaurant in Oak Alley so you can get something there later in the afternoon.

great tour Great bus drivers, great guides and lots of impressions. Swamp tour saw many different animals, but very hot, don't forget water. However, has a small shop to buy something! Plantation very cool!! A bit short tour but definitely enough time to spend time there and explore on your own. Would do it again! I don't know if €100 is justified, but it was worth it!
