Full description

Visit the site of the World Trade Center on a poignant walking tour of the monuments and memorials to those who perished and survived the terrible events of September 11, 2001.

Start at St. Paul's Chapel, and learn about the important role it played in the aftermath of the attacks. Go to 9/11 Memorial Plaza and pause for reflection at the memorial pools.

Get detailed descriptions from your guide about each monument, from the design of the pools to the architecture of the new World Trade Center and its symbolic use of materials, light, and reflection.

Pay your respects at the Fireman's Memorial and American Express 11 Tears Memorial, often missed by those who visit on their own.

Get an up-close look at the reconstruction of the site as you visit Brookfield Place and see The Oculus, the 4-billion dollar centerpiece of the new World Trade Center transportation hub.

Following the walking tour of the area, you'll enter the 9/11 Museum where you'll learn more about the terrible events independently on a self-guided visit.

(Museum option must be chosen at the time of booking. You will receive your tickets for the 9/11 Museum from your guide when you arrive for the start of the walking tour.)

See more than 23,000 images and 10,300 artifacts that tell the story, and hear some of the 2,000 oral histories of those killed, mostly provided by friends and families.

Jim was an excellent guide! Apart from being very knowledgeable and friendly, he was also very, very fun! He took a lot of pictures of us, the travellers, and also gave us very insightful tips about what places/ spots to visit in New York. The only thing I didn't like is that we had to wear a mask (and were not allowed to take it off, unless we were having a photo taken) all the time throughout the tour, even though we were outdoors most of the time:-(...

Jim! Our guide hit every mark for an experience like no other. If you want facts, figures, historical context delivered by New York's #1 Guide, book this tour. Yes, this tour guide is that good. Our experience was on-time to the minute (military precision without the drill sergeant) delivered by a personal, passionate, caring group leader. Thank you GetYourGuide for easing the process to book and enjoy an epic New York adventure; you did not disappoint. Jim - our family is grateful for your good nature, humility, and attempts at humor (wait, you really are funny). Simply stated, you're the best! Many sincere thanks, Jersey travelers with family first-timers in tow.

Emotional tour

So, the only reason for the 4 stars is that I took this tour one other time and in that tour we learned a lot more facts about the construction of the memorial. This tour was more emotion driven. The other tour had both which I preferred. I will say that I did learn some new facts as Debbie took us on a different walking path.
