Full description

Discover the famous Statue of Liberty on a guided tour and ferry ride. Enjoy early access to Liberty Island, see clear views of the iconic New York skyline, and explore Ellis Island.

Begin your day at The Battery (formerly known as Battery Park), the historical gateway to Lady Liberty. Board the earliest ferry of the day (if you choose the earliest tour time) to avoid the crowds of tourists and sail away from Manhattan to greet the Statue of Liberty. Disembark at Liberty Island and join your guide on a walking tour of the island to learn the origins of the iconic Statue of Liberty. As you walk, take in views of the famed New York skyline and the Brooklyn Bridge. Wander through the Statue of Liberty Museum and see Lady Liberty’s original torch. Next, board the short ferry to Ellis Island. Hear a brief introduction about the Island's historical significance and get recommendations on what to do on the island from your guide. Then, explore this special place at your own pace.

Wander the site, enjoy the official audio guide, search the passenger records for family names, or pause for a quick bite to eat at the popular cafeteria. Either return to Manhattan with your guide on the ferry or stay to explore the island as long as you wish.

Loved our guide Ivan for short from Chile. He was knowledgeable and talked with everybody on our tour to learn about where they were from and food in their area. The tour was great and very informative. Enjoyed being up close to Lady Liberty. Wish I'd known I needed another ticket to go up into the statue. The liberty museum had great details on the making and transporting of the statue. Ellis island was so big, you probably need an entire day to see everything, but overall a great experience. I really enjoyed this tour and our group.

Fantastic tour with Rob - fun, knowledgable, insightful and, even a bit emotional. It shouldn’t be missed! Four hours go quickly and I just wish it mentioned that you can stay longer on Ellis Island.. I would have stayed longer if I had known but had made plans..

Rob is knowledgeable, dedicated, and amiable. His tours aren't scripted but he's well versed in the historical background of each part of the tour. There's no telling just what you'll learn but it will be a lot. He laid down on the ground amidst freezing winds at the Statue of Liberty to take photos for everyone in the group. Most importantly, Rob made the second half of the tour (Ellis Island) interesting for everyone by making it personal. He eagerly regaled the tale of his own ancestors' experiences traveling to America, complete with photocopies of ship manifests and photos of living conditions. It's clear Rob has been doing this for a long time and genuinely enjoys sharing his knowledge with others.
