A rich and warm welcome from Harlem

I wish to thank the Guides and the Greater Highway Deliverance Temple for such a wonderful warm welcome to the Harlem neighbourhood. The congregation members were so welcoming of us as a group of tourists and really made us feel a part fo things. Our guide went out of this way to interrupt the stereotypes of Harlem that abound, and demonstrate its rich culture, its compassion and its heart. My favourite quote of the morning was that "the currency of Harlem is respect". He was also very informative and took time on the bus to answer brand questions about New York and share some great simple information (like navigating subways and the restaurant health ratings). We visited a couple of other tourist spots in Harlem.

Very impressive trip

Sunday morning with Glen was very nice and impressive. Our guide, Glen himself came from Harlem and was able to give us a lot of interesting facts. Also, he led us to a real worship that we could attend, a very moving endeavor. The organization was great too. We were greeted in a friendly manner at the door of the office. Everything went great. Thank you for the nice day

The guide was great. Lots of info on the bus. Now do not lose sight that it is a tourist visit in a group (35 French people that day) and at a run. There was one bus per language at the start - impressive - but we don't all go to the same place! The gospel mass disappointed me because there were few practitioners compared to the number of tourists present. I kept in mind the gospels in movies or TV. A little too much the impression that it's a lucrative business... however, a warm welcome and involvement from everyone, including young practitioners. I find that the package is a bit expensive, especially since you have to add tips for the driver and guide.
